Gender Role Differences.
One Size Descriptions of male and female characteristics are generalizations.  "One size" does not fit all!

Evolution The degree to which each man and woman has evolved in closing gender role differences is important to his/her relationships.

Gender Role Differences: Relationships.
Relationships and Gender Role Differences and Stereotypes. Look at and listen to your partner, not as representative of some group of "men" or "women," but as a person. After all, you aren't looking at a stereotype, you are looking at THE person you love. And remember, the real loser in any relationship is someone who always has to win.

Know Yourself First Because each person has adapted/adjusted to the gender changes in society in his/her own manner, the gender role differences between men and women will still affect our choice of mates/lovers and the success of our relationships.

Reactions to change Some men and some women have more traditional male or female gender role  characteristics remaining in their personalities/value systems. Most of these remain from their own personal choices and/or from their fear of or reluctance to change.

Gender Role Differences: Humor.
Love and Faking It Although most men find the word "love" is the abyss, sucking them in to a state of panic, women love that word!  Gender role differences encourage men and women to "fake" it--they just fake different things.

Gender Role Differences: History.
Men's Movement The men's movement brought men together who were questioning society's ideas of masculinity. Now many men gather to trust each other, to relate to each other, and to become better fathers, better friends, better, brothers, better husbands, better men.

Seesaw Before the feminist movement, you could envision men and women on a seesaw. The man was held up partially from his ability to earn money and partially by a financially dependent woman's manipulations. When the feminist movement started, many women abruptly left the seesaw.

Effects of Feminism  Feminism gave rise to the battle of the genders and the superwoman who felt she could and   "should" have it all.

Musings Musings on men and women, changes, new ways of being and doing with gender role changes.
