Gender & Gender Role Differences: Each person has adapted or adjusted to the gender role changes in society in his/her own way. This means the differences between the genders and their roles will still affect the success of our relationships. |

Gender & Gender Roles: It
is not enough to say men (those dogs) are one way and women (those witches) are another.
We need
to choose a mate/love who has effected the same degree and kind of gender
role change that we have.

Gender & Gender Roles Know Yourself,
Then Choose Your Mate/Lover Accordingly. The gender role differences between men and women will still affect our choice of mates/lovers and the success of our relationships. Why? Because each person has adapted/adjusted to the gender role changes in society in his/her own manner. Singles must examine each man or each woman as an individual who has or has not changed with society rather than saying men are one way and women are another. In order to have a successful relationship, we need to choose a mate/love who has effected the same degree and kind of gender role change that we have. |

It is not enough to say men (those dogs) are one way and women (those witches) are another. Singles must examine each man or each woman as an individual who has or has not changed with society. The degrees of traditional characteristics that do or do not remain should be examined closely. These personality traits will play a great role in the success of male-female relationships and even same-sex friendships. For example, William Win-at-All-Costs has a strong attraction to Sally Self-Reliant. He likes her looks, her personality, and her spunk. However, he has the best chance of making a relationship work with Dorothy Door-Mat, that quiet little mouse who might welcome his control or at least let him "win" often. William will never have the control over Sally that he can exercise over Dorothy. Clara Clinging-Vine looks with longing at Nicolas Nice-Guy. But she will have a better chance of her relationship working if she chooses Pete Problem-Solver or Randy Rescuer. Nick will expect Clara to carry her own weight. Nicolas Nice-Guy and Sally Self-Reliant make a good pair because their overall rate of change is much the same. They have accepted change now and are probably more likely to accept the inevitable changes of the future than William Win-at-All-Costs or Clara Clinging-Vine. Know yourself and then choose your mate/lover accordingly. More information about the gender and gender roles and differences.
